Postal prize draw entry checklist : Free Prize Draws

Use this for one draw at a time. Check every instruction against the original terms; different promoters ask for different things.

The draw is still open and postal entries can arrive in time.I meet the promoter’s age and location requirements.I have checked whether an account is needed and created it if required.My name, address and contact details match my account, if required.I included the exact draw name, draw ID, answer and any other requested details.I followed the handwriting, postcard, envelope and entry-limit instructions.I used the correct postal address and required postage.I allowed time for delivery AND the promoter’s processing schedule.I kept my own record and know how to check that my entry was accepted.

“Free postal entry” still means postage

A postal route lets you enter without paying the promoter’s online ticket price, but you cover the stamp and stationery. Follow the exact rules for the promotion; one site may want a bare handwritten postcard, while another allows an envelope.

Leave time for receipt and processing

A closing date is not a suggested posting date. Read the promoter’s postal cutoff and processing days, then allow for delays. Some competitions close early when their allocation is filled. Check that the competition remains open before posting.

Keep your own entry record

Note the draw name, the day you posted and any account confirmation you receive. An organiser may reject an incomplete or late entry without sending an acknowledgement. If something is unclear, ask the organiser before spending money on postage.
